We all know how big the electricity bills can be, especially during winter time, when it is very cold outside. A big part of the heat we pay to obtain is evacuated through doors and windows. One of these sensitive spots of a house is the garage, when it makes common building with the rest of the house. Each and every time you open to entrance from the house to a cold garage, you lose money. The heat you pay so much for goes out, leaving place for the low temperatures to get in.

Remember, all that glitters is not gold, and this means that a new door isn’t necessarily better than a very well insulated old one. I instantly started giving garage door insulation kit a second look when I found out that the new models of doors from serious manufacturers come with improved insulation. I don’t have the money to buy such a fancy door, but I can surely make my old one weather proof with one of these kits.

There may also be times when you are facing garage door insulation getting old and not being so effective anymore. You then get the option to either fix it or replace it. Home improvement is exactly about that: why buy new, when you can pay less and repair what you already have?
